Hollow Knight is a 2D action-adventure metroidvania set beneath Dirtmouth, where the ruined insect kingdom of Hallownest hides ancient cities, overgrown caverns and the traces of a fallen civilisation. As a quiet, enigmatic Knight, you choose your route through an interconnected world, meet strange inhabitants and uncover its history through exploration and encounters. Precise melee combat, demanding bosses and new movement abilities gradually open previously inaccessible paths. Spells and equippable Charms let you adapt your abilities, while maps and other navigation tools help you chart the kingdom's winding depths. Hand-drawn scenery and animation give each area its own character, accompanied by Christopher Larkin's atmospheric score. The adventure also features the additional quests, enemies and challenges introduced by Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe, Lifeblood and Godmaster.
