About
MIO: Memories in Orbit is a hand-crafted science-fiction metroidvania from Douze Dixièmes, the studio behind Shady Part of Me. You awaken as MIO, a nimble robot aboard the Vessel, an immense technological ark drifting through space. Its artificial-intelligence caretakers, the Pearls, have stopped functioning, leaving its corridors overrun by vegetation and malfunctioning machines. Exploring the ship and meeting its inhabitants gradually reveals its forgotten history and MIO's place within it. The Vessel is an interconnected labyrinth of distinct environments, hidden paths and shortcuts. New powers let you grapple across gaps, cling to walls and glide through the air, opening routes that were previously out of reach. Precise platforming is paired with demanding combat against machines and guardian bosses, while scavenged components and modifiers let you customise MIO's abilities. Its watercolour-inspired art direction contrasts the ship's beauty with the dangers concealed in its depths.
